Took this shot back on Jan 24th, 2009. I had actually flown down to LA to meet up with the LA Strobist Group. Man that was a fun shoot, this is probably when I started to really focus on cross lighting and my look. Back then it was just my D200 and my bare Nikon Speedlights. LOL look at the crazy messed up lighting on his face haha oh well practice practice practice!

Picked up a few new friends to shoot with today. There was a sale going on so I couldn’t pass up on these guys! It took me a while to get the lighting looking the way I wanted, but once I placed the strobe right under the lens I got the results I was looking for.

Time to get your Twilight / Vampire fix on! haha! For this shot CjmG threw out a challenge to try and light up a scene exactly the way we wanted. We ended up placing an SB800 in front w/ a piece of paper as a snoot, this was to try and mimic the lighting from a television. Next we placed an SB28 camera right covered with a few sheets of paper to use as a bit of fill light. After that I turned down the white balance in my camera to give the strobes a cooler/colder look to have a more realistic television feel.
